SYNNEX Information Technologies, Inc. Announces Direct Access Through the New HP To Compaq Product Line

FREMONT, CA - MAY 17, 2002- SYNNEX Information Technologies, Inc., a global information technology (IT) supply chain services company, announced that it has expanded its agreement with HP to distribute the wide variety of products manufactured by the former Compaq Computer Corporation. SYNNEX will stock and distribute the complete line of products that made up the former Compaq Access Business Group line, including build-to-order and configure-to-order desktops, notebooks, and iPAQ handheld devices, as well as Compaq's Industry Standard Server Group products, which include build-to-order and configure-to- order Wintel servers and business-class storage products.

SYNNEX had been distributing Compaq's systems to resellers under an indirect distribution program prior to the company's merger with HP. The direct relationship will greatly expand SYNNEX's focus to cover the full breadth of Compaq products offered through the IT distribution channel, and therefore, significantly increase the levels of stocking inventory and extended support on products previously not carried by SYNNEX to authorized Compaq resellers across the United States.

SYNNEX has been a distributor of HP since 1997 and recently received HP's Top Growth Distributor of the Year 2001 award for outstanding growth in HP servers, desktops, notebooks, and hardcopy products.

"This new agreement rounds out a complete distribution relationship with the new HP," said Robert Huang, President and Chief Executive Officer of SYNNEX Information Technologies, Inc. "SYNNEX reseller partners will now benefit from the ability to obtain all of their IT products from the new HP through one source. Our relationships with HP and Compaq were built on a winning formula of a focused approach with dedicated resources promoting and selling HP and Compaq products and services. We look forward to an even stronger partnership ahead with the newly merged companies."

"In recent years SYNNEX has earned the respect of a broad range of channel partners and has proven its strength as a first-class partner for HP," said Kevin J. Gilroy, Vice President and General Manager, HP Commercial Channels, Americas. "The new direct relationship to cover the full range of products formerly offered by Compaq will greatly enhance their selling model and will be mutually beneficial for HP and SYNNEX.

"SYNNEX reseller partners have already expressed their optimism about the new agreement and the potential for greater success in the future.

Brian Nightingale, Sr. Vice President, Sales Operations, at PlanetGov, stated, "Over the last several years, the federal government has migrated to purchasing products from tier-one manufacturers. As a federal government systems integrator, PlanetGov is becoming more dependent upon its relationships with manufacturers like the new HP to achieve success in the marketplace.
